Joe Gonnella was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Enerpulse, Inc. on May 2, 2011 (automotive pulse power ignition). Prior to this assignment, Mr. Gonnella served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Drivesol, Inc., a major producer of automotive electro-mechanical systems and President & Chief Executive Officer of Wabash Technologies, Inc., a global producer of advanced automotive electronic controls.
In 1992 Gonnella joined Engelhard Corporation, a global leader in catalytic emission control systems, chemicals and minerals. As vice president of emission systems, Gonnella turned around Engelhard’s automotive catalytic converter business growing sales form $150 million to $1.0 billion, global market share from 19% to 45% and EBIT from a loss to over 20%. In 1997, Gonnella was promoted to Sr. Vice President of Engelhard Corporation and took responsibility for investor relations, M&A and corporate development.
Gonnella started his career at General Motors Corporation and held progressively responsible positions in engineering, operations and M&A, over a period of 11 years. He earned a BS degree in Industrial Management from Wright State University and an MBA (Finance) from the University of Dayton.
Mike Hammons has a 20-year track record of demonstrated leadership in growing companies at all stages. He has diverse domestic and international experience across multiple verticals, including energy, automotive, aerospace and defense, telecommunications, data storage, enterprise software, and electronic hardware. His primary responsibilities at SAIL include portfolio management, operations and technologies.
Prior to joining SAIL, he held leadership positions including CEO at Vigilistics, CEO at Nexiant, CEO at ARGO Tracker, VP of Global Operations at Cogent Communication, and Director of the South American Automotive Practice at Ernst & Young Consulting. Recognized as an expert in supply chain, operations, manufacturing, product development and logistics, Mike has spoken at multiple conferences and written numerous articles.
Mike serves on several boards including the Advisory Board for California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He has also received multiple awards throughout his career, including Top 100 Most Innovative Vendors from Supply and Demand Chain Executive and Deloitte and Touche Fast 500. He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a master’s in business administration from Harvard Business School.
Tim Ford was appointed to the board of Enerpulse, Inc. in January 2008. He has over 30 years of both private and public company business experience with a focus in Sales, Marketing, Logistics and Finance along with strategy development. In this time period he has served on several boards. He is currently the President and a partner at Cook’s Direct, Inc., a leader in the commercial foodservice equipment and supplies market.
Prior to his role at Cook’s Direct, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Whitney Automotive Group, the parent company for JC Whitney/Warshawskys, Stylin Truck and CarParts.com. There Tim led the group through three acquisitions, two facility relocations and the introduction of JC Whitney’s web marketing initiative. He also facilitated the sale of the company to private equity, netting the ownership a high eight figure proceeds.
Prior to JC Whitney, Tim held leadership roles at Gander Mountain, Inc. and McMaster Carr Supply Company. He began his career at Beatrice Foods Co. Tim earned a B.A. in Management from Western Illinois University and an M.B.A in Accounting from DePaul University.
